4 Book Discussion Groups plus Autumn’s VERMONT READS “GATHER”

Historical Fiction: Tuesday,Sept. 10, 4 pm:   Shelterwood by Lisa Wingate is this month’s novel , descriptive of Oklahoma’s landscape, culture, and the history of children gone missing during the land barons’ quest for oil wealth.

Sci Fi: Monday, Sept. 30, 6 pm. Join in to talk about Gateway by Frederik Pohl..

First Monday Mystery: Each month at 4 pm at the Quechee Library. Sharon McCrumb is the author for September 9 discussion.

A Bugbee Center Variety:  The first Friday of each month Debbie Marcus leads a discussion on a new title—ranging across the genres.  Sept. 6 at 1 pm, however, is special.  The Bugbee Center will bring a bus to the Quechee Library for a reading and talk with our mystery writing neighbor, Sarah Stewart Taylor, about her new novel, Agony Hill,  set right here in the Upper Valley. Special maple refreshments add to the afternoon.

VT Reads:  VHC scholar Suzanne Brown returns to facilitate a discussion of this year’s title, Gather, by Vermonter Ken Cadow.  The 4:30-6 pm conversation on Monday, Sept. 23 will delve into the several themes of “two Vermonts” and the resourceful life of the teenage protagonist.
