At the Wilder Library you can find…
- A rotating collection of new books and a standing collection of books and DVDs for all ages
- Daily copies of the Valley News
- Two newly updated computers and a copier
- A Library of Things including a telescope, museum and park passes, and a blood pressure monitor
- Rotating Large Print books from the ABLE Library
- Historical photographs and texts relating to the Town of Hartford
- Pick-up and Drop-off boxes for after hours access
- 24/7 WiFi
All library staff work at both the Quechee & Wilder locations and are more than happy to bring materials from one library to the other for you! Inter-Library Loan slips can be found at the circulation desk as well.
Rent the Hall
The auditorium may be rented for gatherings by organizations or individuals. Tables and chairs are available for use during the rental, as are Kitchen facilities. We recommend coming to look at the space before your rental, but we are happy to send pictures if that is not an option.
The rental agreement can be viewed here ( WCL Hall Rental Agreement), which has information about rental policies and procedures. Daily rental fees are $150 for 1-4 hours and $250 for 4+ hours.

History of the Wilder Club & Library
More than a century ago, the Wilder Club & Library was built to serve the community in a variety of ways. This historic building, containing an auditorium with a preserved painted theater curtain from the 1940s, reading room, and other meeting areas, has been carefully tended by trustees and continues to undergo restorations.
Since 1997 library services, supported by Town of Hartford tax dollars, have been administered in the Wilder Club & Library by Quechee Library.
The Wilder Clubhouse is the meeting place for several boy and girl scout troops, as it has been for generations.
