LIBRARY CARD

QWLibrary Cards are available to all, free of charge, upon registration.  The cards will be honored at the other Town of Hartford libraries in Hartford Village and in West Hartford.  No need for more than one card; when helpful, request pick up at any town library or at the Upper Valley Food Co-op in White River Jct.

Supported by the Town of Hartford, the Friends of the Quechee/Wilder Libraries, fundraising, donations and grants, the libraries strive to provide services to all.  Please join us in our efforts.

Onecard-patron

What: The OneCard is a project of Upper Valley Vermont libraries to allow patrons to use their home library card to borrow materials directly from any participating library.  Patrons receive the card according to home library requirements but are subject to borrowing regulations of loaning libraries.   Where:  Participating libraries are: Quechee, Wilder, Hartford, Hartland, Norwich, Fairlee, Bradford, Corinth, Chelsea, Windsor and Ascutney.            Who: Adult patrons (17 and over) of Quechee and Wilder Libraries with a minimum 3 month borrowing history in good standing.             How: Stop in at Q/W Libraries to get the OneCard sticker for your library card. Show your library card at any of the participating libraries to check out materials from that library. Each library has its own policies about borrowing so make sure to ask..

VOKAL & What that means for Catalog Use

As a member of  the VOKAL consortium of 50 Vermont Libraries, the Quechee/Wilder Libraries  share a catalog and circulation system called Koha.

All libraries in our town of Hartford arel now on the same system and all residents can more readily access all the collections, use their patron cards at any Hartford Library and/or request that books be brought from one site to another. The easiest way to initiate these transfers as well as regular inter-library loan requests and reserves is to simply use the familiar online shopping method : a cart! Access your patron account, search for a title, click the “add to cart” link. When your cart is ready, click on the green cart button and then hit “send”. For details on this process, stop in for a new Digital Resources guide sheet or email us at info@quecheelibrary to have one sent.

An advantage of VOKAL is that patrons can see items from all the member libraries. Remember that the staff can still borrow for you from all Vermont libraries; continue to just ask for what you don’t see. Search QW Libraries first and always click on the title to see availability and locations. Remember too that titles come in various editions and there is no particular order. Scrolling to find the local copies will always speed things along. For full instructions on catalog and digital resources use, click here
