Vermont Reads 2020: The Hate U Give

As always the QW Libraries are pleased to participate in this statewide one-book community reading program.  We have 40 copies of the title to loan (and ultimately to keep or share).  Pick one up and join us for the following local series.  DVDs available as well.  All dates are now postponed due to the Covid-19 virus concerns.  Get your copy and watch for new dates.
TBA, 5 pm–The Hate U Give Book/Film Discussion about a teenage black girl and her two communities–neighborhood and private school–illuminating police violence, racism and young love.
TBA, 5 pm-The Revisioners.  A book discussion of this novel by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton, an epic from days of slavery through today.  Led by Historical Fiction Group facilitators Meg & Jim Schmidt.
TBA, 5 pm–Screening of the documentary, Change the Subject, produced by Dartmouth students and staff to capture their confrontation of anti-immigrant sentiment in library catalogs.  Watch the story from Baker-Berry Library to the Halls of Congress.  Conversation with Dartmouth librarians follows screening. With all these 5 pm programs, count on library trademark refreshments.
